Kabul will ask donors to focus 80 per cent of their aid budgets on a list of 23 "national priority programmes," which will be introduced at the conference. Afghan officials will also push for a more transparent, organised aid process; donors often fail to report how they are spending money, leading to redundancies and inefficiencies.

A re-imagining of a 1983 production created by Kenneth Johnson, it chronicles the arrival of a technologically advanced alien species (V or Visitors) which seemingly comes in peace, but has sinister motives, namely feeding on humans. The V claim to need a small amount of Earth's resources, in exchange for which they will share their technological and medical knowledge. An FBI counter-terrorism agent discovers that the aliens have spent decades infiltrating human governments, businesses, and religious institutions and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the Earth. The agent joins the resistance movement, which includes a Visitor sleeper agent who over time developed human emotions and now wants to save humanity. The Visitors have won favor among the people of Earth by curing a variety of diseases, and have recruited Earth's youth to serve them unknowingly as spies. Sleeper agents and spies stories disguised under a sci-fi work: to me this work rings a bell.

The American Revolutionary Tradition Posted: 18 Jul 2010 06:01 AM PDT American White Nationalists, by definition, favor a white ethnostate on the North American continent.  Aside from a remnant that believes we can reclaim the entire United States in the short term through electoral means or some kind of coup, most white nationalists view the United States federal government as our primary foe.  Most are interested in secession and carving out a chunk of the United States for ourselves, usually amidst a presumed racial division of the entire country.  Bull sessions about "how it's going to go down" are interesting and sometimes even productive, but there is one major element missing… any connection to America's actual revolutionary tradition.

The site, Blogetery.com, was told by its hosting service that the government had issued orders to shut down the site due to a "a history of abuse" related to copyrighted material. In late June, Joe Biden and Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator Victoria Espinel said the government would move to take down sites offering unauthorized movies and music. "Criminal copyright infringement occurs on a massive scale over the Internet, reportedly resulting in billions of dollars in losses to the U.S. economy," said Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Bharara's office and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement launched "Operation In Our Sites" and executed seizure warrants against nine domain names.

As many as 546 million gallons of oil are believed to have spilled since oil exploration began in this region -- the equivalent of an Exxon Valdez spill every year. There are around 2,000 official spill sites in the region, some of them decades old. Oil companies operating in the region blame thieves and sabotage for the majority of the spills, though local activists say aging equipment and lax safety are the cause of many of them. The number of severity of the spills may actually increase in coming years as the industry moves into more remote and difficult terrain in the delta.

Nieli has an important blog at VDARE.com summarizing some  of the findings in  No Longer Separate, Not Yet Equal: Race and Class in Elite College Admission and Campus Life by Thomas Espenshade and Alexandria Radford. It's no surprise that there is affirmative action for Blacks and Latinos: "To have the same chances of gaining admission as a black student with an SAT score of 1100, an Hispanic student otherwise equally matched in background characteristics would have to have a 1230, a white student a 1410, and an Asian student a 1550." Unfortunately, the authors lump Jews and non-Jews into the White category, but combining their results with what we know about Jewish admissions to elite universities yields some interesting results.

Israeli Extremist says Shin Bet tried to Recruit him to Assassinate Sheikh Raed Salah Posted: 15 Jul 2010 06:01 PM PDT This case will certainly be a source of embarrassment for Israel and Shin Bet, not only because it reveals how they try to recruit racists and criminals to assassinate Arabs but also, if Pearlman is telling the truth, how willing they are to frame Israelis as well. On Tuesday, 30 year old Israeli Haim Pearlman was arrested by the Jerusalem authorities on suspicion of murdering a number of Palestinians, attempted murder and illegal firearm possession. He is suspected of being the "serial stabber" responsible for the deaths of a number of Arabs in the 1990s. Pearlman has a long history of criminality and criminal association. He is a member of Kach which is an extreme far right, racist Israeli movement. It is so extreme that is has been banned by the Knesset for inciting racism and is considered to be a terrorist organisation by America, the EU and even Israel itself. Pearlman has served time in the past following an attack on two Palestinians in a supermarket.
