Freddie Wong Hits 2 Million Youtube Subscribers - Announces Awesome Giveaway!

It looks like Freddie Wong & Brandon Laatsch's freddiew channel just passed the two million subscriber mark on Youtube (actually, as of this posting they're on their way to 3 million as they have 2,010,531 subs).

If you are unfamiliar with the work of Freddie and Brandon, they make cool special effects videos on Youtube that have garnered almost 350 million views in total and each week they upload another which usually gets viewed several million times. One of their most recent videos was a take-off on Universal Pictures' Cowboys & Aliens which featured actor/director Jon Favreau (who directed the movie). Here's a link to Freddie's Cowboys & FreddieW which was posted 3 weeks ago and has already received about 4.5 million views.

So What About This Awesome Giveaway?

Glad you asked. Watch the following video just posted by Brandon and Freddie where they acknowledge surpassing the two million subscribers mark on Youtube. That is actually quite an accomplishment and their channel is now the 10th most subscribed of alltime on Youtube. In the video, Freddie and Brandon fill us in on a contest in which they are giving away a chance to fly out to sunny L.A.

So, here it is, mid-August 2011 and Freddie and Brandon pass another milestone with 2 million subs. Hard to believe it was just last March when they got their millionth subscriber (see 1 Million Subs in 1 Year). At the rate they are getting new subscribers when do you think they will pass the three million mark? By the end of 2011? I wouldn't be surprised.

I always like seeing one of freddiew's videos showing up in my subscription box. In case you don't know who Freddie Wong along with Brandon Laatsch, his partner on this channel are, they are a couple of the best special effects folks on Youtube. They are now the 26th most subscribed channel with 874,465 subs. If you like this sort of cool FX stuff, check out their other stuff at the link above. You won't be disappointed.



Wait a minute! I thought Heroes went off the air. Gotta admit Freddie bears something of a resemblence to the character Hiro from that show in this video, especially with the stopping time aspect.

Freddie Wong: Just A Little Gunplay

Just in case you don't know who freddiew (aka Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatsch) he's one of the best special effect dudes making Youtube videos and in the video you will see clips from a bunch of the videos he posted in 2010. Just a little warning, Freddie likes using guns in his videos lol.



According to what I read, there are 933 cuts in that video in total. Ouch. That is some dedication to film editing. In 2010 he uploaded a total of 44 videos and only 16 were gun videos, but those are the money lol. I've never seen anything quite like the stuff Freddie puts on Youtube. His channel now sits at 798,359 subscribers (awesome!) and hopefully we'll see some more of the same incredible effects in 2011. My guess is we won't see anything quite the same as 2010, but it will be bigger and badder maybe with a few explsions thrown in for fun.

I must have missed the one with the hot girl ("360, no scope") so I'll be going back through his videos to try to find out who she is - unless you all know.
