It looks like quite the tournout for the Youtube Gathering in Melbourne on January 22, 2011 as seen in the following video by AngryAussie. A while back Kimmi Smiles posted a video saying that there would be a gathering and that popular youtuber Dave Days would be flying in from the U.S. Kimmi and Dave have done several collab videos and it looks like Melbourne certainly welcomed him to the city.
Lots of people showed up and I think I recognized Louna Maroun (hard to miss with the flaming red hair) among others. Frezned was also on hand, but it looks like Dave was a big draw for many.

AngryAussie And NickosBlog On The Queensland Floods
Here's a couple of videos from two of the Australian youtubers that I follow, namely AngryAussie and NickosBlog and both are trying to raise more awareness for the massive flooding going on in the area of Queensland Australia.
If you've somehow missed this story, there has been a lot of damage done and more importantly the actual loss of lives. The last report I heard was that 10 people had been killed by the rising waters, but as many as 60-70 more people are still reported as missing. Australia is a huge continent and the water covers an area 2 times the size of the state of Texas and I also heard that it would also cover the entire country of France. And the rains continue.
there is something you can do to help if you want to lend a hand and are on the other side of the globe and that is donate to flood relief as well as send your good wishes and support to those working to bring relief to this terrible situation. AngryAussie himself announced he would be contributing a week's pay to flood relief. Which I think shows that Mr Angry for all his anger actually has a heart of gold (just don't tell anyone).
Another thing that AngryAussie brought up in the video is that there is going to be a Youtube Gathering in Melbourne on January 22, 2011 (checkout the Bradshaw's Blog post: Melbourne Youtube Gathering Saturday January 22nd for more info). You really should follow AngryAussie as he posts tons of great videos and skewers the idiots of the world who make him angry. He does not suffer fools gladly and will step up to tell them. He does get a little heated at times, but get past the decibal level of his very appropriately placed anger and you will likely agree with what he says.
Mr Angry has a ga-zillion different contact points (you can even call him if you want!) but other than his main Youtube channel (link above) be sure to follow him on Twitter (@angryaussie) and check out his blog Angry 365 Days a Year which is also linked on this blog - check way down the right hand side for other great blogs of youtubers that I recommend you follow. Give me a shout if you are on Youtube and also make a blog and I'll see if I can add it to the list.
And I can't forget about another Aussie youtuber who I follow that just posted a video about the Queensland flooding situation. NickosBlog, along with his wife Jess and the true star of his vlog, their daughter Immy, do a daily vlog and they also are pitching in to show their support in the following video:
I liked that: "Keep that Aussie spirit alive and burning". Australians are some of the toughest, most loyal people anywhere who even in difficulties such as this, keep their sense of humor and optimism. They just need a bit of support. Do whatever you can and show whatever support you can.

AngryAussie On How To Make It Big On YouTube
First off, this is a LONG video - clocking in at around 45 minutes, so you will need to kick back and relax. Secondly, if you are looking for this video by AngryAussie to hold your hand and lead you step by step to the promised land of massive YouTube fame and fortune, that's not what this video is about. Plus, AngryAussie may not be for you either if you are not prepared to be shouted at. That's not a bad thing either - he is not all abuse and vitriol. He is not afraid to be loud and in your face, but when you get past HOW he says what he says, the WHAT he's saying makes a lot of sense.
The first part of this video is about his visit to England and some of his experiences over there as well as announcing a second channel he is setting up - sort of an "AngryAussie-Lite" where he is "a little less angry" lol. A lot of the allure of his main channel is that he slams those who exhibit stupidity in all it's forms, politically, in comments and life in general as he sees it. Most of his videos are not this long, it's just that he had a lot of information to cover on this one.
The description he attached to the video says it all: "Hint one: if you can't sit through this video for the advice, you don't deserve to be big on YouTube. Because you have to work at it. If you don't have that dedication, you aren't going to make it big."
It is the 2nd half of the video where he goes into detail about the work needed for any sort of success on YouTube, be it moving from 0-100 subscribers, to how to handle any and all criticism - there will be criticism good and bad. You need to interact with your proposed audience with better content as well as in comments - and in real life. AngryAussie, like many youtubers, goes to large and small Youtube events and gatherings and meets his audience as well. The amount of fame and fortune that you will get from YouTube (and elsewhere, for that matter) will be directly proportionate to what you put into it.

AngryAussie currently has 23,161 devoted subscribers (and I'm one of them). Get past the angriness and you will see that he makes valid points. Most of his anger is directed to life's idiots and his advice boiled down is - DON'T BE ONE.

AngryAussie Quits His Job & Makes YouTube His Day Job
One of the people I am subbed to on YouTube is AngryAussie from Australia obviously - hopefully you can tell by the accent in the videos and the scenery. I stumbled across this youtuber a few times and finally subbed a while back. He mostly does rants and the one the other day about Government Screwing With The Internet was good. Anyway, in the video above, he mentions that he has decided to take the plunge and make YouTube and other online endeavors his source of income. On YouTube, he currently has about 21K subs and over 1100 videos posted, so he has already shown a certain commitment.
