YOUNG TALENT TIME

Joey Dee of Young Talent Time.

Our post entitled "TONY CURTIS, DAVID CASSIDY, TED HAGGARD...", which has recently had 27,273 pageviews, mentioned a lot of Americans.

So here is something for Australians.

Young Talent Time was an Australian TV program which ran from 1971 until 1988.

It brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.

The program was the creation of host Johnny Young (John Benjamin de Jong, from Holland)

In 1993 Terry Higgins, who was both a friend of Johnny Young and a director of Young Talent Time, was diagnosed as being HIV positive. (Young Talent Time - Wikipedia)

Jamie Redfern and Johnny Young

Singer Jamie Redfern, from Young Talent Time, toured the USA with gay singer Liberace.

Dannii Minogue, from Young Talent Time, was asked by Mardi Gras records to launch "the first ever gay and lesbian record label". (Dannii Minogue - Young Talent Time)

Debra Byrne was a child star on Young Talent Time.

Allegedly, Johnny Young allowed Byrne, then 12, to have sex with a 24-year-old studio crew member and to drink alcohol and take drugs. (John's Young Talent trauma Herald Sun)

One of the stars of Young Talent Time was Joey Dee.

AngryAussie And NickosBlog On The Queensland Floods

Here's a couple of videos from two of the Australian youtubers that I follow, namely AngryAussie and NickosBlog and both are trying to raise more awareness for the massive flooding going on in the area of Queensland Australia.

If you've somehow missed this story, there has been a lot of damage done and more importantly the actual loss of lives. The last report I heard was that 10 people had been killed by the rising waters, but as many as 60-70 more people are still reported as missing. Australia is a huge continent and the water covers an area 2 times the size of the state of Texas and I also heard that it would also cover the entire country of France. And the rains continue.

there is something you can do to help if you want to lend a hand and are on the other side of the globe and that is donate to flood relief as well as send your good wishes and support to those working to bring relief to this terrible situation. AngryAussie himself announced he would be contributing a week's pay to flood relief. Which I think shows that Mr Angry for all his anger actually has a heart of gold (just don't tell anyone).

Another thing that AngryAussie brought up in the video is that there is going to be a Youtube Gathering in Melbourne on January 22, 2011 (checkout the Bradshaw's Blog post: Melbourne Youtube Gathering Saturday January 22nd for more info). You really should follow AngryAussie as he posts tons of great videos and skewers the idiots of the world who make him angry. He does not suffer fools gladly and will step up to tell them. He does get a little heated at times, but get past the decibal level of his very appropriately placed anger and you will likely agree with what he says.

Mr Angry has a ga-zillion different contact points (you can even call him if you want!) but other than his main Youtube channel (link above) be sure to follow him on Twitter (@angryaussie) and check out his blog Angry 365 Days a Year which is also linked on this blog - check way down the right hand side for other great blogs of youtubers that I recommend you follow. Give me a shout if you are on Youtube and also make a blog and I'll see if I can add it to the list.

And I can't forget about another Aussie youtuber who I follow that just posted a video about the Queensland flooding situation. NickosBlog, along with his wife Jess and the true star of his vlog, their daughter Immy, do a daily vlog and they also are pitching in to show their support in the following video:

I liked that: "Keep that Aussie spirit alive and burning". Australians are some of the toughest, most loyal people anywhere who even in difficulties such as this, keep their sense of humor and optimism. They just need a bit of support. Do whatever you can and show whatever support you can.

DaveDays Heading To Melbourne Australia For Youtube Gathering

Looks like DaveDays is confirming that he will be in Australia for the Youtube Gathering being held in Melbourne January 22, 2011. Dunno about the Aussie accent though Dave.

I posted a blog a few days back after kimmitalks tweeted that there was going to be a gathering and made a video providing details. For more info about it, take a look at Melbourne Youtube Gathering Saturday January 22nd.

You can follow Dave and Kimmi on Twitter (as well as sub to their Youtube channels at the links above) at the following:

Melbourne Youtube Gathering Saturday January 22nd

I always try to give a shout out when I hear about a Youtube gathering (even those I can't attend) and there's going to be one in Melbourne, Australia on January 22nd, 2011 from 12pm to 3pm. kimmitalks (aka KimmiSmiles) just posted this video and I thought I should alert my readers in Australia (yes I do have readers, plural lol, in Australia) - actually the Aussies make up a sizable chunk of my viewership. I get read by Americans, Canadians, UK, and then the Aussies who are a little under-represented on this blog which I plan to remedy. But I'm off topic. Watch this video by Kimmi:

It looks like DaveDays will be showing up and he and Kimmi have collaborated for several videos.

According to the info Kimmi provided on her video, the gathering will be on the 22nd at "Federation Square, meet in front of the Giant Screen/Stage". I really wish I could go to this mainly because I've never had the opportunity to go to Australia and I think everyone should visit Australia at least once. Also I'd to get away from the snow and ice (I live in Canada and it is the dead of winter). So I guess I'll have to just have my envy to keep me warm while Dave, Kimmi and the other lucky youtubers bask in the sun.
