Emma Watson a leading lady: But she's is overrated

ECHEE SAYS: Emma has not won an award in 8 tries. It’s been three years since she won anything. On this list of twelve Emma is listed as number 10.  Kristen Stewart is number 11 but she has more acting experience and an overall better resume than Emma. For the record I think both Emma and Kristen are more pretty than talented. I’m talking different characters as well as high budget and low budget. I guess being in the biggest franchise in movie history played a role for Emma to get on this list. I wonder how much American movie producer Harvey Weinstein played in this now that Emma dropped out of Brown and in turn became his new muse. That's how I see it.  

Let me know when we see more out of Emma instead of her usual eyebrow twitches and over dramatics. I always get a chuckle when I think back to Harvey Weinstein comparing her to Jean Shrimpton and then boasting about Emma's range. What exact proof do we have for this range? All we have is a girl harboring a wand with frizzled hair. Emma has proven she's photogenic in modeling even though you can tell much has been photo shopped and airbrushed which includes missing legs and face thinning but no other success to put her on this list. All she has been and she will be until we see real "range" is a pretty face and that girl that played Hermione. 

I found it hilarious that some of her fans think she should play Elizabeth Taylor in a movie about her life. Wow, talk about putting the buggy before the horse on that one. Did you see Emma in George Craig's, "One night only" music video? She was just plain horrible.

Out of twenty-seven nominations she won 11 awards. None stand out as huge except for her first one. But still she's been labeled as some sort of Icon religiously. I don't get it or see it. In these awards what competition did she have? They are "give me's" and definite.

Emma Watson: The counter-productive "icon"

It's all been a bit busy recently with the Lancome shoot in Paris and now my organic clothing collection with Alberta Ferretti, called Pure Threads, has been launched. You can see it on www.albertaferretti.com. Hope you like it! xx" Twitter : "My 'Pure Threads' collection with Alberta Ferretti has just been launched. Take a look on www.albertaferretti.com and see what you think! x" What this says to me is, "Hi everyone I just filmed commericals and posed for pictures in high end clothing and accessories with LANCOME that conducts animal testing but here is "MY" organic clothing collection because I believe in fair trade and I want to make a difference."

These few quotes below you may have read if you read the links I have posted. They fit with topic because like these statements with later hypocrite action so is this supporting fairtrade/organic clothing but pushing high end and their designers more. I could go on with alcohol and movie roles but you can find that stuff on my blog for yourself. I think there is a reason for all this and I'll give my opinion below.   

Speaking of Lancome from above to refresh your memory here is a quote from above link that is one of many hypocrisy moments I've shown you in this blog that comes to pass. When she states she is against something you end up seeing her do it.

Now onto this Organic clothing none sense

The next question is who can afford these prices? They are geared to the rich but do you think the rich are going to buy this stuff? No way. They love high end fashion and loyal to their designers.Only 3 outfits?

From dailymail.co.uk  This is a People tree interview but mark my words the bold face and underlined will happen and the second one already underway with her leavng People Tree after learning teh nehind the scene process to design with Alberta Ferretti and start to call what she designs "My line" like she already has.

I’m doing this range because I really care about fair-trade and ethical fashion. I’m so pleased that I got involved, but I don’t want to take all the credit for being the designer because I haven’t trained as a designer or even gone to art college – in fact, I had no idea about the amount of work involved at the outset." So this is not an Emma Watson clothing line? "I didn’t want this collection to be all about me. This is not a celebrity endorsement, it is about creating something that is genuinely a great idea and about making a difference through fashion."

I'm really surprised, to be honest." Emma has also become a designer in her own right, with her own range for fair trade fashion manufacturers. She added: "I love fashion and there are two more collections to come out"

Emma Watson is an Icon?!?!

Does playing one movie role in seven films constitute being called a “icon” and compared to  JEAN SHRIMPTON at such a young age? I know both Youncef Nabi of Lancome and Harvey Weinstein who are quoted below are just trying to profit by pushing this image on us that Emma Watson is more unique than any other young star but these are both huge asinine statements to make. In the grand scope Emma has yet to be successful on her own. Modeling clothing and one movie character says nothing.

Do you know how much Photoshop is done on Miss Watson? She's no different from other people. Plus she has to wear loads of make-up to hide her freckles and other blemishes. If they are not using lighting, it’s head angles and other tricks of the trade. yes she is pretty but not the kind of pretty they are making her out to be. I can think of many other celebrity women that are far more elegant and pretty. Emma's overrated. Sorry.

As for Icon does that not mean you accomplished something great? What exactly has she done other than playing Hermione? Above Harvey Weinstein boasts about her range but the issue with that is no one has seen it on film. How can you make such a statement? She has yet to prove she can do other things other than have her photo taken and play Hermione Granger with the same success.  

As for her being the highest paid actress in Hollywood that is no different than R2D2 and C-3PO being the highest paid androids in six Star Wars films. She was in the right place and right time. Her acting skills are basically all eye brows and over dramatic over tones. Nothing special.  She has yet to win any major awards. The ones she has won are not earth shattering. Just kids stuff.

All of a sudden she drops out of Brown and here she is being lauded as this saint and heroine the likes of none other. Where is the consistency and longevity passed one success? More like lucky break. Talk about dumbing down the criteria for being an Icon and comparing her to a icon of her time in Jean Shrimpton. Maybe in time she can be what they're claiming but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
