雅-MIYAVI- will participate as a guest in GOOD CHARLOTTE’s new song[Like it's her birthday]. [Like it's her birthday] will go on pre-sale in Japan on 27 October as part of GOOD CHARLOTTE’s first album after changing record labels. It’s also planned to be released as a single on the 7th of September. This song is the result of Madden brothers who feel a deep respect for Japan’s desire to collaborate with a cool Japanese artist.

雅-MIYAVI- has been recommended to the two by their musical record staff who has attended 雅-MIYAVI-’s live show in NEW YORK City and after viewing a recording they made him the offer.

The two sides met for the first time on 26th of August somewhere in Tokyo. Both GOOD CHARLOTTE and 雅-MIYAVI- could bound as really active artists who have traveled around the world and discussed heatedly about guitar and their worldwide activity. 雅-MIYAVI- who has commented that “If given the chance, I would like to do it again” seems to also be anticipating the reactions on this collab.

On a different note,雅-MIYAVI-’s soon to be released [WHAT'S MY NAME] album’s jacket and track list have been revealed. In a simple formula with just 雅-MIYAVI- and BOBO (drums) this piece will contain tracks like [SUPER HERO] and [SURVIVE] album version as well as the 09/15/2010 soon to be released [TORTURE] single. This album was made in colaboration with Yoshio Katoshika as both producer and sound engineer.

Joel (GOOD CHARLOTTE) Comment:

Because we have a lot of respect for Japan we’ve been wanting to do a collaboration with a cool Japanese artist for our fans in Japan. Our new record Label’s A&R went to 雅-MIYAVI-’s show in NEW YORK and he was completely stunned, so he recommended him to us. Basically, once we’ve seen the video of his live show, we’ve realized there could be no mistake in choosing him.

Benji (GOOD CHARLOTTE) Comment:

I was really impressed with 雅-MIYAVI-’s guitar during the recording of [Like it's her birthday] I thought he was absolutely amazing. ( Continuing about [Cardiology] ) For our next album we wanted to do this kind of sound and gathered a lot of ideas. I think the kinda guitar cuttin’ that reminds me of RED HOT CHILLY PEPPERS is really cool so after he’s (雅-MIYAVI-) listened throughly to my guitar sound, he was able to come with a lot of ideas himself.

雅-MIYAVI- Comment:

At first i was offered to do a solo part but I thought, if I have to do it either way, it would have no meaning if I don't destroy the song's original image completely. In the end the whole solo part idea was dropped all together. I’m really happy they’ve listened to me. I’ve got the strong feeling that stuff like genre really don’t matter. If given the importunity, I’d do it again.
