Emma Watson has no spine for her convictions.

The more I read the more I realize the issue could be Emma Watson is spineless. I said "could" not "is". The jury is still out but this "no spine" can go with just about everything in this entire blog. This is another example that is related to below links in next paragraph.

This goes with a post I did HERE on organic clothes line and one HERE regarding People Tree. A few quotes below are also within those links. This is hypocrisy and contradiction on display. I don't know about deception. How can you stand for something and sound so passionate but promote the other? She has said it is important to wear and support fair trade/organic clothing but yet she does not. She's being more counterproductive then making any difference other than good press for her. On the links above I point that out.

Emma Watson is featured in the ELLE UK April 2011 magazine.

What are you wearing? (Interview from Elle magazine April 2011) "I’m wearing Hakaan. I’ve loved his designs since the first collection. My bracelet is Laurence Coste and the shoes are Louboutin – they add 14cm to my height and they’re comfortable!" (Just imagine if she did this while wearing People Tree or the Alberta line I'll show below. I don't know how you can push People Tree but talk more about high end. It's hypocritical.) What is your favourite part of the collection? (Seperate interview not related to Elle about Alberta organic clothing Line) "I would wear all the clothes, which are made in Bangladesh, India and Nepal, and there is also some amazing jewellery – especially a necklace made from recycled sweet wrappers, which is made in Bangladesh. It comes in a box also made of sweet wrappers. Brilliant! (This was in jan 2010 and by the end of the year she was named best dressed female Brit)  Which designers do you admire? (Interview from Elle magazine April 2011) "Christopher Kane is incredible – I’m really excited that he won British Designer of the Year. Mark Fast is an amazing talent, too. I’m very proud of my British fashion roots." From guestofaguest.com May 26th 2010 Emma Watson took a break from being a normal college student at Brown and filming her final scenes as Hermione Granger to support her fellow Brits last night at Pulino's. "You have to be authentic and true to yourself," she offered to the crowd of emerging British designers. They all gathered to toast the end of the LONDON show ROOMS program. (no calls for people tree or organic direction here)

The above photo is from Emma's collaboration with Italian designer Alberta Ferrettis none-organic clothing meaning not Burberry or high fashion. It's along the line of Emma's People Tree collaborations of which she also never wears in public. This is it. Just a handful of choices. Emma is about accolades and fame, not actually being for fair trade. She does not wear any of it on the streets or talks about it other than when she "designs" them or when the catolog of her modeling them comes out. The Elle magazine interview like so many others she pushes more high end fashion and designers. She only talks about fair trade and ethical clothing in the context of her designing them and being a consultant in the planning and modeling aspect. By the way she is done with People Tree. The last collaboration was it.

What is the message you want to convey through this collection? (Seperate interview not related to Elle at snitchseeker.com) "There is nothing better than to dress in organic clothes. Natural, comfortable, sustainable and, perhaps, even more beautiful than those produced with synthetic materials and chemicals."  (If Emma believe this than why does she not wear these clothes like she does with high end material?)
From dailymail.co.uk (Not from Elle interview i started off with. About People Tree) You’ve done acting, modeling, and now you’re designing. Is this the future for Emma Watson "Oh, I don’t have any plans to be a designer. I’m doing this range because I really care about fair-trade and ethical fashion. I’m so pleased that I got involved, but I don’t want to take all the credit for being the designer because I haven’t trained as a designer or even gone to art college – in fact, I had no idea about the amount of work involved at the outset." So this is not an Emma Watson clothing line? "I didn’t want this collection to be all about me. This is not a celebrity endorsement, it is about creating something that is genuinely a great idea and about making a difference through fashion."

AND THE FINAL QUOTE

From uk.msn.com November 18th 2010  I've always had a strong sense of self and my convictions. That's why I can't understand necessarily wanting to look or be somebody else. Why don't people want to be who they are?'

Update June 2011, From dailyrecord.co.uk June 16th, 2011 Her fashion sense has helped her to become the face of Burberry, whose sales have boomed since. She said: "It's a huge compliment. It's amazing. I'm really surprised, to be honest." Emma has also become a designer in her own right, with her own range for fair trade fashion manufacturers. She added: "I love fashion and there are two more collections to come out"

UPDATE JULY 7TH, 2011, From thisislondon.co.uk  July 2011, "As for her status as a style icon, she has no further ambitions to design fashion (she helped create a collection for ethical label People Tree last year) but may continue to model. The Burberry shoot was liberating because "it let people see me as something other than Hermione".

UPDATE JULY 24TH, 2011, From dailymail.co.uk July 23rd, 2011, "Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has proved a hit in front of the camera by modelling for Burberry, but now she wants to show off her skills as a fashion designer. The 21-year-old, who also plans to continue her studies at Oxford after cutting short her time at Brown University in America, has been taking fabric-cutting, design and sewing classes, I'm told. 'Emma wants to challenge herself creatively. 'She's obsessed with art at the moment,' says a mole. 'She's already designed a line of T-shirts and wants to expand her skills to create bespoke evening wear. 'She looks up to designers such as Georgina Chapman and Sarah Burton.'She has also been studying the work of Joan Miro to inspire her."

UPDATE, From ryanseacrest.com July 27th, 2011, "Ken Baker, E!’s Executive News Editor, addresses rumors that Emma Watson is leaving acting to pursue a new passion. What we know for sure is that Emma, on the heels of her last success with the final Harry Potter films, is looking to add fashion designer to her resume. How cool! This pretty starlet has already been a model for top designer Burberry and is always looking fabulous at the Harry Potter premieres. With her experience and awesome sense of style, we think she’s totally cut out for the job! Emma hasn’t decided to pursue this interest on a random whim. The ever stylish college student has been taking design classes at Brown University. She has been seen in sewing classes and is said to be “obsessed with fashion.” But don’t worry Potter-heads. This doesn’t mean that Emma is leaving acting. Rumor has it that the actress already has two post-Potter movies in the works!
