12 November, candidacies are due for the Stone Ashdown Directorship of the Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations (CMJR) at Cambridge, England. Candidates should have completed a PhD or equivalent higher degree, ideally have a strong publications record, and have experience of work with international learners and of interdisciplinary teaching and research. This post is offered on a full-time basis. The CMJR is part of the Woolf Institute, based at Wesley House, Cambridge (www.woolf.cam.ac.uk/cmjr), and is dedicated to the academic study of Muslim-Jewish relations. The aims of CMJR include the promotion of deeper attitudes of mutual respect and understanding in the encounter between Islam and Judaism, to develop the study of Muslim-Jewish relations as an academic discipline in its own right; to combat prejudice and ignorance through education, research, and dialogue; and to offer its educational programme to a wide audience and particularly in parts of the world where it is greatly needed. The application pack should be mailed to CMJR, Woolf Institute, Wesley House, Jesus Lane, Cambridge CB5 8BJ, United Kingdom; or via email to cmjrenquiries@woolf.cam.ac.uk. On 22-26 November, in Washington, the 2010 Human Right and Social Welfare Organization (HRSWO) Symposium Event will take place, and on 29 November-3 December, in Dakar, Senegal. The Symposium event is an excellent opportunity to network with Human Trafficking and related child abuses. If you are interested in representing your organization or you want to participate as an individual, you should contact the Secretary Organizing Committee at hrswosecretary@aol.com or trinity.hayden01@globomail.com. 30 November, deadline for proposals, for the 19-20 May 2011, Newark, New Jersey, Rutgers University, First Global Conference on Transparency Research, spaa.newark.rutgers.edu/home/conferences/1stgctr.html ------ . __,_._,___ |
