Venezuela: Interview with ex-Minister of Trade Eduardo - On February 10, 2010, Eduardo Samán was informed by state authorities that he had been removed from his position as Minister of Trade by the National Executive. Samán was known in Venezuela as a Minister very close to the revolutionary people, very much in touch with its problems and concerns. He was also very popular with the workers, because he had promoted workers' control in factories such as La Gaviota in Sucre state.

Una nueva jornada nacional de lucha contra la reforma de las jubilaciones sacó a las calles de Francia a 3,5 millones de manifestantes el 12 de octubre, el número más grande que este movimiento ha movilizado hasta la fecha. El carácter masivo de las manifestaciones sólo se puede comparar con las huelgas de 1995/96, cuando el Gobierno intentó aplicar recortes en la seguridad social y en los derechos jubilatorios de algunos sectores de trabajadores.

Demonstrationens massive karakter kan kun sammenlignes med strejkerne i 1995/96, da regeringen forsøgte at skære i den sociale sikkerhed og nogle grupper af arbejderes ret til pension.
