Another picked up in Islamabad after he attended Conference on missing persons
Abdul Rahoof, a 36 year old homeo doctor is kidnapped by intelligence agencies from his clinic on 11th December 2010 at about 7 PM a day after he attended a one day before seminar on missing Persons on 10 December, the international day of human rights.
He was a participant in the round table conference on missing persons jointly organized by International Institute for Research and Education (IIRE Islamabad) , Asian Human Rights Commission and Labour Education Foundation.
According to eye witnesses, at about 7 PM on 11th December, he was sitting in his clinic located at Muhammadi Plaza, Transformer Chock, Sadiqabad, Rawalpindi, when four unidentified persons wearing Shalwar Kamiz with white Chatrali capes came in the clinic and called Dr. Rahoof to come out side, when he came outside the clinic, they picked him up and pushed him in a black Toyota Corolla car parked on the other side of the road, one police mobile van was also accompanying with the car. One Qari Zaheer who was already known to Dr Rahoof was with these persons who picked him up. Qari Zaheer who is a disabled person was also missing on the same day.
After this incident, the family of Dr Rahoof contacted the area police station Sadiqabad and tried to submit a written application about the incident but the duty officer declined to received the application against the intelligence agencies. A day after, when some local put pressure on the police to receive the application, the police officer received it formally but after some changes was made in the application on his dictation. The area police station Sadiqabad has still failed to recover Dr Abdul Rahoof.
Up till writing this report, we have not heard anything about this person. He is been just picked up in a sheer violation of human rights.
