Hunting season

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 10:10 AM PDT

The mind tries to scratch itself, as if little bugs were running around inside your head, trying forever to try to make the numbers add up, and they don't. They won't. Perhaps they never will.

Suddenly, things are gone. You didn't plan it that way. They're just gone, lost to attrition, paring down, disappeared by the friction of life. Where did that book go? That ring? That photo?

When Will We See the Next Mass Murder?

Here's a news flash for Tel Aviv: it's not a sign of respect when the bulk of humanity views you as psychopathic.

The concerns of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are misplaced. The legitimacy of Israel is no longer threatened. It's already lost. Long gone. Kaput.

Gitmo: The New Rules of War

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:00 AM PDT

Concerned about the treatment of Mehdi Ghezali, a Swedish citizen held at the US detention camp at Guantanamo, filmmakers Erik Gandini and Tarik Saleh travel to the pseudo-paradise of Guantanamo Bay to find out what is really going on there. Despite being stonewalled every inch of the way, the pair depict an aspect of American behaviour that many will find unpalatable, even reprehensible, uncovering brutality to rival that of Abu Ghraib.

Barack Obama on End of U.S. Combat Mission in Iraq

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:00 AM PDT

Good evening. Tonight, I'd like to talk to you about the end of our combat mission in Iraq, the ongoing security challenges we face, and the need to rebuild our nation here at home.

I know this historic moment comes at a time of great uncertainty for many Americans. We've now been through nearly a decade of war. We've endured a long and painful recession. And sometimes in the midst of these storms, the future that we're trying to build for our nation — a future of lasting peace and long-term prosperity — may seem beyond our reach.

Even the dead pose a "demographic threat" in Occupied Jerusalem

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:00 AM PDT

In stable democratic states there are laws that protect historic sites against confiscation or destruction. Governments allocate funds from state budgets for their maintenance. However, in Israel such normal procedures do not apply when it comes to maintaining Islamic heritage sites. To the contrary, Muslim sanctities all over Palestine have suffered systematic destruction at the hands of the Israeli governments, and the Mamilla cemetery, where there are now only 5% of the tombs left[1], is no exception.

My Weak Muslim President

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:00 AM PDT

FPIFExcept for a few residual Know-Nothings, Americans wouldn't think twice about voting for a Catholic president. In the last election, President Obama abolished the presidential race taboo. And we're likely to have a woman president in the next decade or so. Of course, we haven't elected a Catholic since Kennedy, we might not break the race barrier again for a while, and let's hope our first woman president isn't Mama Grizzly herself.

Wednesday: 10 Iraqis Killed, 22 Wounded

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 06:50 AM PDT

Today begins Operation New Dawn, the new U.S. mission In Iraq. Despite the end of "combat operations," at least 10 Iraqis were killed and 22 more were wounded in the latest round of violence. Coincidentally, U.S. officials reported Iraq is planning to spend $13 billion on U.S. arms and military equipment.

Gen. Lloyd Austin took over from Gen. Ray Odierno as commander of operations for the new mission in Iraq. Vice President Joe Biden, who is in Iraq, says the new mission must now turn to solving the country's economic troubles and believes senior Iraqi officials are close to forming a new government six months after national elections. US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates also traveled to Iraq on a surprise visit.

The Talmud: Scalpel that bleeds the Mideast

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 06:31 AM PDT

In the Old Testament, God required the Hebrews to drive the wicked Canaanites from His promised land. Canaanite culture was saturated with infant sacrifice, ritual murder, sexual perversion, idolatry and occultism. God knew that a policy of zero tolerance toward Canaanite evil was the only way Hebrew monotheism would survive. Only then could it prepare a place for Jesus Christ, Savior of all who would trust in Him.

But although God authorized harsh measures against pagan religions, the Old Testament is devoid of racism: the conviction that other peoples are inherently evil, degenerate, or subhuman. King David, notably, descended from a Jew, Boaz, and Ruth, a godly Gentile. David included righteous Gentiles in his army, such as Uriah the Hittite. Also, David was close friends with the Sidonian king Hiram, who largely built Solomon's temple. Gentile converts like Rahab were welcomed into the Hebrew community.

WHO Report: I Was Asked To Spy If I Wanted To Study

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 06:06 AM PDT

Ahmed is a medical student. He cannot continue his training at an East Jerusalem hospital because his permit was confiscated. He recounts how the Israeli secret  service asked him to work for them if he wanted his permit back.

"As part of my studies at Al Quds medical school in Abu Dis, for the last two years I've been doing on-the-job training at an East Jerusalem hospital. Being a Palestinian from the West Bank, I need a permit from the Israeli authorities to enter Jerusalem. I've never had any problems getting one before. This spring, however, a soldier at the check¬point confiscated my permit. I was told that I had to see the Israeli secret service, Shin Bet, if I wanted to get it back.

When I finally got an appoint¬ment a few weeks later, the Shin Bet officer told me: "If you help us, we will help you." They asked me to inform them about my fellow students' activities, in particular any travel abroad. In other words, I was asked to spy if I wanted to study. I refused and, as a result, I didn't get my permit back.

Glenn Beck's Theatre of the Absurd

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 05:59 AM PDT

If you want to know the real purpose behind Glenn Beck's expensive, heavily publicized 'feel good' extravaganza, you need only watch the first ten minutes of the speech he delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Dressed up in the NWO color of purple, and clutching purple speech cards in his hand (check out who else is fond of the color purple), Beck took center stage to issue marching orders to the thousands of gullible lemmings that attended his 'Restoring Honor' rally this past weekend.

A Middle East Peace That Wreaks Havoc

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 04:14 AM PDT

Common Dreams
What an irony that the Palestinians' arch-enemy, Israel, should also be their saviour. There is a real danger that the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks due to starton September 2 in Washington could yield a botched deal that falls far short of the needs of international law or elemental justice, and sets back the cause of Palestine for decades, if not for ever. Fortunately this will not happen as long as Israel's obduracy can be relied on to save the Palestinians from such an outcome.

What the wall has done

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 03:56 AM PDT

Israel began constructing the wall in June 2002 following its invasion of cities in the West Bank, which it dubbed "Operation Defensive Shield." In retrospect, the invasion appears to have been a prelude to the construction of the wall and no one recognized the significance of the invasion's code name at the time. The immense scale of the 2002 invasion -- characterized by the destruction of Palestinian civilian infrastructure, mass arrests, assassinations and massacres -- ensured that the construction of the wall would commence with as little resistance as possible.

Pastor Terry Jones–All Bark and No Bite When It Comes To Speaking The Truth About Islam and Judaism

As the "peace talks" are about to get under way in Washington, Hamas has decided to remind us all of its vitality by executing four settlers. According to the New York Times article, Hamas claimed that the attack was "a natural response to the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its settlers" and demonstrates that the "armed Palestinian resistance is present in the West Bank despite the war to uproot it."

Obama's Iraq speech: An exercise in cowardice and deceit

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 02:18 AM PDT

President Barack Obama's nationally televised speech from the White House Oval Office Tuesday night was an exercise in cowardice and deceit. It was deceitful to the people of the United States and the entire world in its characterization of the criminal war against Iraq. And it was cowardly in its groveling before the American military.

Uncovered: the unholy Zionist-EDL marriage

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 02:00 AM PDT

The increasingly cosy relationship between the extremist, racist EDL movement and the ultra-racist Zionist movement in the UK is becoming more and more visible with each passing demonstration that they attend. It is now a common sight to see a mass of Israeli flags at an EDL rally and a mob of EDL members at a pro-Israel rally. This is an association which is at once revealing as to the true nature of the Zionist movement whilst also a source, one would assume, of much distress and embarrassment to right minded Jews who would blanch at such a self-defeating and counter-productive association.

Israel's shameless mouthpiece

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 01:39 AM PDT

In yet another revealing speech, this time delivered at a symposium at IDC University in Herzliya, Tony Blair has exposed himself for what he truly is; not a "peace envoy" by any stretch of the imagination but a shameless mouthpiece for the State of Israel. Just days before direct negotiations are due to take place in the Middle East, in which he is supposed to be taking a neutral stance representing the Quartet (UN, EU, Russia and the USA), Blair has taken it upon himself to set aside any pretence of impartiality and reaffirm his "passion" for Israel. He has taken on the role of Israel's defence attorney to plead with the world to try to empathise with Israel and to understand Israel's point of view when it commits atrocities, human rights abuses and breaches of international law. He acknowledged that Israel is often perceived as "arrogant, overbearing and aggressive" but instead of examining why that might be such a widespread perception he went on to defend Israel's crimes. Not for one moment, however, did he stop to ask anyone to consider the Palestinians' point of view.

A "moment of reckoning" but for whom?

But the day came.

Not Guilty. The Israeli Captain who Emptied his Rifle into a Palestinian Schoolgirl

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 12:00 AM PDT

An Israeli army officer who fired the entire magazine of his automatic rifle into a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and then said he would have done the same even if she had been three years old was acquitted on all charges by a military court yesterday.

The soldier, who has only been identified as "Captain R", was charged with relatively minor offences for the killing of Iman al-Hams who was shot 17 times as she ventured near an Israeli army post near Rafah refugee camp in Gaza a year ago.

Abu Mazen's Mission Impossible

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 11:19 PM PDT

President of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas heads off to the United States this week for dinner with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama at the White House.

Days later, Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, stalled for more than 10 years, begin in the US. No serious effort has been exerted in this direction - despite all the loud talk at the Annapolis conference by the former George Bush Administration. That conference in November 2007 brought Abbas together with then-Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert and a host of Arab and European leaders who set the end of Bush's term, January 2009, as a deadline for agreement on a two-state solution.

Death By Globalism—Economists Haven't A Clue

Have economists made themselves irrelevant?  If you have any doubts, have a look at the current issue of the magazine, International Economy, a slick endorsed by former Federal Reserve chairmen Paul Volcker and Alan Greenspan, by Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, by former Secretary of State George Shultz, and by the New York Times and Washington Post, both of which declare the magazine to be "ahead of the curve."

Was the Rabbi speaking for himself?

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 11:10 PM PDT

Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the Spiritual Leader of Shas, an Israeli Sephardic ultra-Orthodox party, delivered a sermon at the weekend in which he prayed for the death of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and for the suffering of the Palestinian people, saying, "Abu Mazen [Abbas] and all these evil people should perish from this earth. God should strike them and these Palestinians, evil haters of Israel, with a plague."  This is not the first time that Rabbi Yosef has made remarks of this nature.  He has previously referred to Arabs generally as "vipers" and called for genocide against them, "It is forbidden to be merciful to them.  You must send missiles to them and annihilate them. They are evil and damnable."  While one could easily dismiss Rabbi Yosef as an unhinged extremist, he is far from a marginal figure in Israel.  Shas is a major political party in Israel, holding 11 out of 120 seats in the Knesset. It is a member of Israel's governing coalition and its official leader, Eli Yishai, who has defended Yosef's racist statements in the past, is the current Interior Minister and also a Deputy Prime Minister.

Continuity of Government: Coup d'Etat Authority in America

steve lendmanThis article reviews the historical roots and America's current Continuity of Government authority, initially planned and developed by Ronald Reagan. More on that below.

On March 1, 2002, Washington Post writers Barton Gellman and Susan Schmidt headlined, "Shadow Government Is at Work in Secret," saying:

"President Bush has dispatched a shadow government of about 100 senior civilian managers to live and work secretly outside Washington, activating for the first time longstanding plans to ensure survival of federal rule after a catastrophic attack on the nation's capital."

Will 'Machete' release spark racial violence?

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 09:16 PM PDT

With the violent and racially-charged film 'Machete' about to hit theaters Friday, Alex Jones has once again questioned the film's potential to heighten tensions in the immigration debate or even fuel riots or attacks. Though the production crew has downplayed fears of a 'race war' message, recent sightings of bloody 'Machete' promo posters plastered throughout Latin America suggest that this violent film may still stir controversy and strong reactions.

We only hope director Robert Rodriguez and his production crew have thought carefully about what they are putting out on the big screen.

Assessing the Iraq War

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 06:00 PM PDT

Ivan Eland

As President Obama gave a self-congratulatory speech about keeping his campaign promise to remove U.S. combat forces from Iraq by the end of August, he accomplished this feat by merely redefining the mission of the 50,000 combat-trained U.S. forces remaining there to "advising and assisting" Iraqi forces. Of course, this really means that we are not out of the woods yet in that fractured and violence-prone country.

Acts of Contrition

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 06:00 PM PDT

Justin Raimondo

I hate it when I'm right, mostly because my predictions are invariably dark. We're lost, doomed, the end is near. It's always something. And while it may be in bad taste to say "I told you so," I did indeed tell you so back in March of 2003, when the invasion of Iraq was nigh:

"The war on Iraq is going to be short, but the occupation will be a task without end, a heavy burden that will be more than just punishment for our vainglorious 'victory.' As the self-elected arbiter of every ethnic dispute that arises among the quarrelsome peoples of the Middle East, we are walking into a snake-pit, I fear, without thought of the consequences. A future of endless conflicts, perpetual war for perpetual peace, and color-coded terror unto infinity – that is what we have to look forward to."

What Obama Should Have Said About Afghanistan

My Fellow Americans,

Claim for Native Title Threatens Jewish State

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 05:36 PM PDT

Nuri al Uqbi's small cinderblock home in a ramshackle neighbourhood of Hura, a Bedouin town in Israel's Negev desert, hardly looks like the epicentre of a legal struggle that some observers say threatens Israel's Jewish character.

Inside, the 68-year-old Bedouin activist has stacks of bulging folders of tattered and browning documents, many older than the state of Israel itself, that he hopes will overturn decades of harsh government policy towards the Negev's 180,000 Bedouin.

The State and Local Bases of Zionist Power in America

Paris Hilton is a Naughty Girl, and Other Felonies

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 04:01 PM PDT

They say she's an heiress, but I say she's more like trailer trash. She wears a lot of Pepto Bismol pink and prances around like an innocent little doll, but make no mistake about it, Paris Hilton is a naughty girl. Before the age of thirty, not only has Hilton served time in jail for a misdemeanor DUI, she has produced a pornographic video, been busted with weed at an African airport, and most recently, been charged in Vegas with felony possession of cocaine. She is claiming the handbag the drugs fell out of belonged to somebody else. Who does she think she's fooling? The bimbo act is fine if you're hanging out on the Sunset Strip with Brandon Davis, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, but in the real world, not everybody is as idiotic as Barbie.

Glenn Beck: Beggar-in-Chief

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 04:00 PM PDT

I've somehow missed out on the Glenn Beck phenomenon. My entire exposure to the guy has been from his occasional appearances on the O'Reilly show, which I watch from long habit. Beck's persona there is goofy. He giggles, hams, pulls faces, and banters with O'Reilly. It's entertaining, which of course is what it's intended to be—a bit of light relief in among the Big Mick's newsier items.

I've never caught Beck's own show, though, or read any of his books. That's not from any aversion: I just don't catch much radio or TV, and read books mostly for money (i.e. reviewer's fee). My entire image of Beck has been of that amiable jokester on O'Reilly.

Meshal: Most Palestinians, from elites to regular people, reject the talks

From Huffpo, a piece saying that the peace process under Obama is risking greater violence. Interview by Shamine Narwani of Hamas leader Khaled Meshal in Damascus:

That's why the negotiations can only be conducted under American orders, threats and pressure exerted on the PA and some Arab countries.

How Free Is The West's "Free" Media?

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 02:14 PM PDT

Hardly a day passes by without Muslims being told to grow up and accept western standards of freedom of expression and thought. Some western commentators have gone so far as to claim that they have the "right" to offend — Muslims, that is. Thus, the Danish cartoonist has the right to depict the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the most vile manner; western newspapers have the right to publish these cartoons and Muslims must learn to live with the West's freedom of speech. It is a cherished right of journalists and people in the west, we are told. So not only denouncing but also offending Muslims is a right in the west.

Can Jews kill Jews?

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 12:37 PM PDT

Every Israeli Hasbara idiot will tell you that while Muslims kills other Muslims (true no doubt), Jews will never kill their fellow Jews. However, historic events prove that after the Christians, most of the Jews killed were murdered by their fellow Jews. In fact, the former US President Richard Nixon is recorded on the White House tape in 1971 as saying: "The only two non-Jews in the Communist conspiracy were Chambers and Hiss – Every other one was a Jew and it raised hell with us".

Ironically, some of world's greatest mass-murderers happen to be Jewish. Adolf Hitler, who is being portrayed as the greatest evil which breathed on earth by the Zionist mass-media – had 150,000 German Jews in the Nazi Army, who took active part in the Jewish Holocaust. Not only that, Hennecke Kardel in his book 'Adolf Hitler – Founder of Israel: Israel in War – With Jews', documents how the Zionist Jewish elites used Hitler for mass immigration of European Jewry to Palestine.

The Real 'Crisis': Yale's Pro-Israeli Conference

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 12:12 PM PDT

On August 25, Yale University ended a three day global anti-Semitism 'crisis' conference promoting the notion that Israeli criticism is "anti-Semitic," no matter how justified.

Boola boola, for shame, mighty Yale displaying the same type anti-Islamic hatred virulent throughout America, raging daily in headlines over the proposed New York City Islamic cultural center, falsely called a mosque, but does it matter?

Defence of Apartheid Israel Unjustifiable

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 11:49 AM PDT

I wonder whether pro-Israeli apologists ever sense the sheer hopelessness of their desperate attempts to shield the apartheid regime from legitimate and necessary criticism.

Having had the misfortune of reading the misguided views of Benjamin Pogrund [Sunday Independent, August 29], I am convinced that his angry attempt to admonish South Africans vis-à-vis their negative stance against Israel, reflects poor judgment.

What Jews Think of Humanity

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 11:37 AM PDT

Here Israeli soldiers kidnap a young girl. You'd piss your pants too if you had any idea what was about to happen to this little girl...gang rape followed by murder is common.

Here's a great example of how jews view humanity. In fact, jews only view themselves as human, and the rest of the planet as goyim (cattle) or animals, or even insects. The real story is that jews are not exactly human like the rest of us. They lack a lot of important human traits, such as a conscience, and the inability to do anything more than fake human emotions.

Mike Rivero – What Really Happened

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 11:05 AM PDT

What really happened? That's a good question. Here's what happened. America, and many countries around the globe ignored their ancestors, and allowed the jews to live freely amongst them. Unfortunately, jews do not wish to simply live freely, and work hard to become a part of any society. The jews are a parasitic ilk that instead always act as a nation within a nation. The jews consider themselves far above and beyond everyone else, whom they deem to be "goyim" or cattle at best. In fact, jews consider all others as insects, and proudly boast in true supremacist fashion that they are the only real humans on earth. (See Basic Training for Revolutionaries)

Everybody Hates Tony

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 09:00 AM PDT

During a visit to Kosovo this summer, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie met with a remarkable group of children. The young Kosovar boys had each been born soon after NATO's bombing campaign successfully drove Serbian forces from the province in 1999. More significantly, each child was named Tonibler in Blair's honor.

As one of the boys' mothers put it: "I hope to God that he grows up to be like Tony Blair or just a fraction like him."

Turkey's Silent Crisis

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 08:58 AM PDT

As he sat down to have coffee on a sweltering August day in Istanbul, the first words my interlocutor, a well-known Kurdish intellectual named Orhan Miroglu, uttered were about the death of his three cousins in his ancestral village in Batman, a province in the heart of the Kurdish region of Turkey. The previous night, his cousins and a fourth villager had gone to investigate a suspicious fire on the outskirts of their village. As they approached, a mine destroyed their vehicle, killing them all. All of them had been members of Kurdish political parties or human rights groups. They were the latest casualties in a war between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), an insurgent group that enjoys a great deal of support among Kurds.

The Worst Job in Japan

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 07:39 AM PDT

In the year since voters in Japan overturned half a century of nearly unbroken rule by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), the country's politics have only grown more unpredictable. In June, then-Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama -- whose Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) had been swept into power in the revolt against the LDP last August -- resigned, his popularity torpedoed by indecisiveness and allegations of corruption. Less than three months later, it is possible that Japan could change prime ministers again: Naoto Kan, who replaced Hatoyama in June only to lead the DPJ to a disappointing defeat in July's upper-house election, now faces a challenge from within his own party in Sept. 14's party leadership election.

Government Think Tank Calls For Infiltrating Conspiracy Websites

Furious that state involvement in major terror attacks is being exposed to a wider audience than ever before via the Internet, a UK think tank closely affiliated with the Downing Street has called for authorities to infiltrate conspiracy websites in an effort to "increase trust in the government".

"A Demos report published today, The Power of Unreason, argues that secrecy surrounding the investigation of events such as the 9/11 New York attacks and the 7/7 bombings in London merely adds weight to unsubstantiated claims that they were "inside jobs," reports the London Independent.

Vaccine Deaths And Injuries Skyrocket As Cover-Up Implodes

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 07:00 AM PDT

Cases of debilitating illnesses, soft-kill side-effects and even instant deaths as a result of vaccinations across the world are skyrocketing as the cover-up of deadly inoculations implodes and more people than ever become suspicious about what they are being injected with by health authorities who have proven they cannot be trusted.

The implosion of the vaccine cover-up is sure to discourage more parents from vaccinating their children in the coming months, with the swine flu shot now being combined with the regular seasonal flu jab.
